Proctology
Proctology is a surgical specialty dealing with diseases of the large intestine and rectum, both inflammatory and neoplastic.
For a patient visiting a doctor for the first time with symptoms of rectal or large intestine disease, the visit can be embarrassing. However, there is no need to feel ashamed or afraid of the medical consultation – a proctology specialist treats many other patients with similar health issues, and their goal is to provide effective help.
Do not delay visiting a proctology specialist if you have noticed any concerning symptoms. Neglecting prompt diagnosis and appropriate treatment will allow the condition to worsen, causing severe pain and even life-threatening complications in the case of neoplastic changes.
Wilmed Clinic offers care for patients with proctological diseases from diagnosis to procedural and surgical treatment. Our team of proctologists with many years of experience diagnoses patients and performs procedural treatments in our modern and patient-friendly Medical Center. Surgeries for various conditions, including operations for perianal thrombosis, perianal fistula, and anal fissure, are performed in our modern hospital under comfortable conditions, with special attention to patient safety and well-being.
In the field of proctology at the WILMED clinic in Warsaw, we perform the following procedures:
- Painless hemorrhoid removal
- Pharmacological and procedural treatment of anal fissures
- Removal of condylomata acuminata
- Cosmetoproctological procedures for removal of anal margin folds and other unwanted changes
- Procedural treatment of perianal thrombosis
- Procedural treatment of perianal fistula
- Treatment of anal pain syndromes
- Colorectal cancer prevention
In proctology, we perform the following endoscopic examinations:
Anoscopic examination – involves inserting a special speculum through the anus, allowing the doctor to view the anal canal. If pathological changes are found, biopsies can be taken for histopathological analysis.
Rectoscopic examination – a speculum is inserted through the anus, enabling visualization of the anal canal and the intestinal wall over a length of 15-20 cm. During this examination, biopsies of observed pathological changes can also be taken for histopathological analysis.
