Rhinoseptoplasty - nose surgery
The rhinoseptoplasty procedure combines improving the aesthetics of the nose with restoring its proper functional functions
The nose is an important part of the respiratory tract, through which airflow occurs, as well as its humidification and cleansing from microorganisms.
Abnormalities in the structure of the nose can cause many difficulties during breathing. People with impaired nasal function experience troublesome problems with free breathing.
The solution to such inconveniences is to perform a rhinoseptoplasty procedure.
What is rhinoseptoplasty?
- Rhinoseptoplasty is a functional and aesthetic surgery of the external nose and nasal septum.
It is a procedure combining two types of surgeries: septoplasty, aimed at correcting a curved or deformed nasal septum, and rhinoplasty, whose main goal is to correct aesthetic defects of the nose.
- Why are rhinoseptoplasty procedures performed?
They aim to improve the external appearance of the nose combined with restoring proper functional functions, i.e., breathing through the nose and the sense of smell.

Benefits of undergoing rhinoseptoplasty surgery
Rhinoseptoplasty is an advanced surgical procedure that simultaneously improves the appearance of the nose and restores its proper respiratory function.
By combining aesthetic correction with reconstruction of internal structures, it is possible to achieve harmonious facial proportions and a significant improvement in breathing comfort.
Below we present the most important benefits that patients can achieve through this comprehensive procedure:
Improvement of nose appearance combined with restoration of proper nasal functions
Correction of the shape, length, width, and tip of the nose allows achieving natural proportions matched to facial features, and correction of the nasal septum restores proper airflow and significantly improves breathing comfort.
Improvement of facial symmetry
The procedure eliminates deviations and asymmetries, making the face look more coherent and aesthetically pleasing.
Long-lasting aesthetic effect
Properly performed rhinoseptoplasty ensures a long-term, stable result.
Fewer sinus and nasal infections
Proper nasal anatomy facilitates sinus drainage and reduces the risk of recurrent inflammations.
Better sleep quality
By clearing the nasal passages, snoring decreases and the quality of nighttime rest improves.
Greater self-confidence
Improvement in the appearance of the nose and breathing comfort translates into better well-being and ease in daily interactions.

What does the rhinoseptoplasty procedure involve?
The rhinoseptoplasty procedure is performed under general anesthesia and lasts from 1.5 to 2.5 hours.
Depending on the type of abnormality, the following surgical methods are used:
- Closed method, in which incisions are made inside the nasal cavities. In this case, absorbable sutures are used, which dissolve on their own after a few days, eliminating the need for removal. This method ensures that scars from the incisions are completely invisible. However, this method cannot be used to correct all defects.
- Open method, in which incisions are made in inconspicuous areas on the nose between its openings. This allows the surgeon easier and more complete access to all nasal structures. The scar becomes practically invisible after a few months.
After the surgery, special external stabilizing dressings are applied, which are removed after about 10-12 days, silicone plates stabilizing the nasal septum – removed after about 7 days, and sponge dressings placed inside the nostrils, which are removed within the first day after the procedure.
