HOW IS THE TREATMENT PERFORMED?

The hyaluronic acid preparation is administered with thin needles that leave no marks at the injection site and minimize pain. After injecting the preparation under the skin, it fills and smooths wrinkles. The patient practically notices the effect immediately after the treatment. They can return to daily activities right after the procedure.

During the procedure, the doctor usually applies local anesthesia or uses hyaluronic acid preparations with an added anesthetic agent.

HOW DOES THE SKIN BEHAVE AFTER THE TREATMENT?

It depends on the individual reaction of the patient’s body, the type of preparation used, the treatment area, and the extent of the corrected region.

The most common reaction after the treatment is slight swelling and redness, which usually disappear after about 20 minutes. Less frequently, minor bruising or longer-lasting swelling may occur. Sometimes this effect can be minimized with auxiliary preparations used during and after the treatment.

HOW SOON IS THE EFFECT VISIBLE AND HOW LONG DOES IT LAST?

The post-treatment effect appears gradually. The first results are visible immediately after the treatment and are related to the volume of the applied preparation (filler). The full effect results from the hygroscopic properties of hyaluronic acid and becomes visible up to 3 weeks after the treatment, lasting up to 24 months.

CONTRAINDICATIONS

Of course, besides indications for treatments, we also consider contraindications. The main contraindications for this type of treatment include, among others:

• absolute contraindications: pregnancy, breastfeeding, or hypersensitivity to hyaluronic acid
• relative contraindications: autoimmune diseases, tendency to form hypertrophic scars, skin inflammations (herpes, acne)
