Breathe deeply thanks to innovative sinus treatment
Endoscopic sinus treatment
What is it?
Endoscopic sinus treatment is a modern method for treating sinus inflammations.
FESS, or functional endoscopic sinus surgery, is a surgical technique involving minimally invasive operative drainage of the paranasal sinuses.
When is this procedure performed?
About 15% of people suffer from chronic sinusitis. The cause of the inflammatory process is impaired sinus ventilation leading to changes in the mucous membrane and accumulation of secretions inside the sinuses. In some cases, treatment with nasal medications or antibiotics is sufficient.
However, when conservative treatment does not bring improvement, the only cure is an endoscopic procedure.
Endoscopic sinus treatment is performed to remove abnormalities in the mucous membrane and to clear the sinuses.

What is the purpose of endoscopic sinus treatment?
Endoscopic sinus surgery aims to clear the openings of the paranasal sinuses, known as the ostiomeatal complex. For the sinuses to function properly, continuous drainage and ventilation are necessary. If the sinus openings become blocked, tissue swelling and inflammation occur, and the patient experiences chronic sinusitis. The unpleasant symptoms are caused by the mucus accumulating in the sinus cavities.
Thanks to endoscopic sinus surgery, the patient gets rid of chronic sinusitis, thereby improving their daily functioning.
Nasal obstruction and related unpleasant symptoms are removed, such as:
- sleep disturbances
- reduced concentration
- headaches
- fatigue and irritability

What does the endoscopic sinus treatment procedure involve?
The surgery involves removing diseased areas using microsurgical instruments and an endoscopic camera inserted through the patient’s nasal passages. This method limits the procedure to removing only the tissues that truly require it, while preserving the anatomical structures of unaffected tissues.
The procedure does not require incisions on the facial skin, so there are no postoperative scars on the patient’s face. During the surgery, the surgeon removes changes within the openings of the paranasal sinuses and widens their openings, thereby clearing the sinus passages and improving their ventilation and drainage.
The procedure is performed under general anesthesia and lasts from 1 to 2 hours depending on the extent of the changes. After surgery, the patient stays in the hospital until the next day.

Benefits of choosing the endoscopic sinus treatment method
Endoscopic sinus treatment is a modern, minimally invasive method that effectively restores proper breathing and quality of life.
Thanks to precise technique, the procedure removes the cause of the symptoms, not just the symptoms themselves, providing lasting and noticeable results.
Below we present the main benefits patients gain from this treatment:
Removal of the inflammatory focus
in a minimally invasive way using micro instruments and a camera
Preservation of intact anatomical structures not affected by the disease process
thanks to the minimally invasive nature of the procedure and the use of a micro camera
No postoperative scars
due to the endoscopic method avoiding external skin and mucous membrane incisions
Significant reduction of postoperative pain
due to the minimally invasive nature of the procedure
Short hospitalization time
the patient can return home the very next day
