Plastic surgery is a branch of medicine that deals with improving aesthetic defects of the human body. Contrary to appearances, the roots of plastic surgery date back thousands of years before our era (in ancient India, attempts were made, among others, to reconstruct noses cut off as punishment for theft), but it began to develop dynamically in the 20th century, after World War II, when various procedures were used to restore the aesthetic appearance of soldiers returning from the front.
In recent years, plastic surgery has experienced a period of very intense development and growing popularity. Thanks to increasingly new methods and procedures, emerging innovative medical equipment, and the growing skills of doctors, plastic surgery procedures have become accessible to virtually everyone.
