Lipofilling – Breast Augmentation with Autologous Fat
Until recently, breast augmentation surgeries were performed exclusively using artificial, usually silicone implants. However, medical advancements have introduced newer, less invasive methods – one of them is lipofilling, which is breast augmentation using the patient’s own fat. We perform this procedure at our Wilmed clinic in Warsaw.
Lipofilling is an innovative procedure at the intersection of aesthetic medicine and plastic surgery, operating on two levels. In the first stage, fat is harvested from areas where the patient typically has excess – most commonly the abdomen, but also the buttocks, thighs, or hips. This procedure allows removal of excess fat tissue from these problematic areas and visibly slims the silhouette.
The removed fat is not discarded but injected into another body area that requires shaping or augmentation. These can include selected facial areas (improving facial contour, filling volume in the cheeks, visible nasolabial folds, tear troughs), hands (prominent wrinkles, dryness, and loss of skin elasticity), as well as breasts. Using fat tissue harvested from the patient, breasts can be shaped, asymmetry corrected, firmness improved, and naturally augmented. This is the procedure we specialize in at Wilmed.
Lipofilling – Advantages
The lipofilling procedure has many advantages. It is performed under general anesthesia – sufficient to ensure the patient experiences no pain, yet without the need to burden the body with deep anesthesia. The fat tissue harvested from the patient is a natural material, so there is no risk of allergic reactions. Moreover, breast augmentation using the patient’s own fat is less invasive than implant insertion, and many patients report that the results appear more natural.
Lipofilling – What Else Should You Know?
Although lipofilling is a safe procedure, bruising and swelling may occur at the fat harvesting site. Sometimes the patient must wear a compression dressing for a period. As with all procedures, lipofilling is not performed on everyone – contraindications include autoimmune diseases, blood clotting disorders, pregnancy, and breastfeeding.
At Wilmed, lipofilling is performed by experienced plastic surgery specialists – ensuring truly excellent aesthetic results. Breasts become firmer, naturally contoured, and look younger and more attractive. Patients interested in lipofilling are invited to contact us -> https://en.wilmed.pl/contact/.
